Hoa Phat Group listed in Top 10 best prosperity businesses 2017

The Viet Nam Report JSC on March 13^th 2017 in collaboration with online newspaper VietnamNet announced the BP500 - Top 500 Viet Nam best prosperity business 2017 ranking. The ranking aimed to honour outstanding, prosperous and potential firms for their big contribution to the country’s prosperity and people’s living.

The ranking of businesses in the BP500 was valued based on main criteria of good and effective business results, creating jobs to society and implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The list is based on independent research and assessment of Việt Nam Report JSC. It complies with international standards and was drawn up in consultation with domestic and foreign experts. Companies pay no fee to be listed in the BP500 ranking.

The selection criteria of Viet Nam Report include businesses with private capital ownership higher than 51 per cent. The announcement of private companies ranking is necessary and useful as a foundation to compare with best prosperity firms which do not differentiate capital ownership while honour active contribution of the economic component for the country’s development and prosperity. 

Hoa Phat Group was also in the Top 5 of listed companies with highest profit in 2016. This was also a year which Hoa Phat implemented biggest CSR activities so far 

Hoa Phat Group reached a revenue of VND33.8 trillion and after-tax profit of VND6.6 trillion in 2016, representing 34 per cent and 89 per cent year-on-year increases and surpassing 21 per cent and 106 per cent of the set targets.

It contributed VND3.43 trillion to the State budget in 2016, increasing 24 per cent from the previous year and listed the top 30 biggest tax payers in Viet Nam.

Last year, Hoa Phat used over VND20 billion for its CSR activities such as donation to affected people by floods in the central region, building welfare constructions, free meals for poor patients at K Hospital, heart surgeries for poor children and scholarships for students of the National Economic University.

Viet Nam Report said the prosperity companies have been considered as outstanding representatives with high business results, potential for growth and good CSR to community. If businesses are like the cells of the economy, prosperity businesses are the strongest cells that make up the nation's prosperity.

According to Viet Nam Report and Vietnamnet, Hoa Phat has been in the Top 10 biggest private firms for 9 consecutive years, top 5 prestigious listed companies, top 30 biggest tax payers and top fastest growth companies.
