Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tam visits and works at Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel

Late last week, a delegation led by Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tam visited and inspected the progress of the Group's key projects in the Dung Quat Economic Zone.

During the working program, the delegation toured the site to review practical progress at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Railway Steel Rail and Special Steel Factory Project, the HRC2 Plant, and several production areas within the Hoa Phat Iron and Steel Production Complex.

At the meeting, Mr. Mai Van Ha - Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company - reported on the company's recent operational performance. Currently, Hoa Phat has received investment policy approval and is implementing 7 projects in the Dung Quat Economic Zone with a total estimated investment capital of approximately 194,000 billion VND and a land footprint of around 710 hectares. The primary focus is iron and steel manufacturing with a capacity of roughly 12 million tons per year.

In 2025, the company contributed more than 8,000 billion VND to the National Budget, making it the largest budget contributor among the Group's subsidiaries. The company currently employs over 16,000 workers, with local labor accounting for approximately 80%.

Company leaders also briefed the delegation on project implementation status and current obstacles, expressing hope that provincial leaders, departments, and agencies will continue to offer support to keep Hoa Phat's regional projects on schedule.

After listening to the company's report, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee and head of the delegation - acknowledged and highly commended the efforts and achievements of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel throughout its investment in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, particularly regarding budget contributions, job creation, and social welfare.

Chairman Nguyen Duc Tam instructed the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Zones, alongside relevant departments, to act as key contact points to receive and advise on resolving Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel's requests in a timely manner - focusing on clearing bottlenecks to support the business's production and growth.
