CEO of Vale - World’s largest ore producer visits Hoa Phat to mark 10 years of cooperation

On September 11, 2026, Vale Chief Executive Officer Gustavo Duarte Pimenta, Independent Board Member Marcio Antonio Chiumento and other senior executives visited and held a working session with Hoa Phat Group to mark 10 years of cooperation between the two Groups.

Chairman Tran Dinh Long and Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Viet Thang welcomed the delegation at the Group’s headquarters. The Director Board of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel and Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel also attended the working session. 

Vale is the world’s largest producer of iron ore and nickel, with annual iron ore output of 336 million tonnes and an integrated network of mines, ports and logistics infrastructure. Vale has partnered with Hoa Phat since 2016, supplying millions of tonnes of high-quality ore each year to support stable and sustainable production.

On September 11, 2026, Hoa Phat and Vale signed a cooperation agreement to develop human resources in materials engineering for Vietnam’s metallurgical industry 

To mark 10 years of partnership, Hoa Phat and Vale signed a cooperation agreement to implement a human resource development program in materials engineering for Vietnam’s metallurgical industry. 

Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, Chief Executive Officer of Hoa Phat Group, said: “We greatly value our longstanding partnership with Vale. Hoa Phat particularly appreciates Vale’s initiative to work with us in developing this human resource program. As Southeast Asia’s largest steel producer, with annual capacity of 16 million tonnes, Hoa Phat has substantial demand for highly qualified professionals in metallurgy and materials engineering. I believe Hoa Phat and Vale’s cooperation in this program will not only create learning and career development opportunities for the younger generation but also help improve workforce quality at Hoa Phat and across Vietnam’s steel industry, particularly as the country enters a new era of development”.
