Hoa Phat supplied 555,000 tons of steel to the market in July

In July 2023, Hoa Phat Group produced 633,000 tons of crude steel, up 22 per cent over the previous month. Sales volume of construction steel, hot rolled coil steel (HRC) and steel billet reached 555,000 tons, up 3 per cent compared to the previous month. In which, Hoa Phat's HRC recorded 291,000 tons, the highest since the beginning of the year and increasing 16 per cent compared to June 2023.

The high output of hot rolled coil steel last month was thanks to the positive signal of HRC demand in the market, especially in the export market. The group has exported HRC steel to many countries in Europe and Asia.

Hoa Phat sold 261,000 tons of construction steel products, reducing 9 per cent compared to June, mainly due to weak demand and unfavorable weather conditions for construction activities.

In addition to the above steels, Hoa Phat Group also provides many post-steel products such as steel pipes, galvanized steel, and pre-stressed steel. In July, Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company achieved an output of 74,000 tons, posting 22 per cent year-on-year increase. Galvanized steel sheet of all kinds recorded 32,000 tons, up 81 per cent compared to corresponding period last year.

In the first 7 months of the year, Hoa Phat Group produced nearly 3.5 million tons of crude steel, reduced 30 per cent compared to the same period in 2022. Sales of steel products reached 3.46 million tons, representing 23 per cent year-on-year decrease.

In the six-month period, Hoa Phat Construction Steel Company supplied to the market with 1.9 million tons, down 30 per cent compared to the same period last year. HRC steel recorded 1.5 million tons, posting 4 per cent year-on-year decrease.

For HRC downstream products, Hoa Phat Group’s steel pipe reached 399,000 tons, down 9 per cent compared to the first 7 months of 2022. Meanwhile, galvanized steel sheet reached 207,000 tons, posting 5 per cent year-on-year increase.

Hoa Phat Group is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 8.5 million tons a year. Construction steel and hot rolled coil are the main products. With the advantage of having a seaport, Hoa Phat supplies products to domestic and foreign markets quickly and competitively.
