Hoa Phat sold more than 1.3 million tonnes of steels in H1

Hoa Phat Group supplied more than 1.34 million tonnes of steels to the market in the first six months of the year, up 22.9 per cent from the same period last year. Its exports of construction steels posted 35 per cent year-on-year increase in the January-June period. With the positive results, Hoa Phat continued to maintain its leading position in the steel sector with market share of 25 per cent.

Alone on June, Hoa Phat’s steel sale rose by 20.9 per cent from the corresponding period last year to 185,900 tonnes. Of which, steel sales in the southern region and exports saw strong growth, increasing three times and 4.6 times from the same period last year respectively.

Specifically, the steel consumption in the southern region was 184,000 tonnes, up 2.7 times from the same period last year. The central region reached a steel sale of 202,500 tonnes, up 1.8 times from the same period last year.

Hoa Phat shipped 123,479 tonnes of construction steel to foreign markets in the six month period, representing 35 per cent year-on-year increase. Its main export markets include ASEAN, Australia, Japan and the US. The US market alone accounted for around 10 per cent of Hoa Phat’s construction steel exports.

It is expected that the construction steel output of Hoa Phat Group would significantly increased in the second half of the year as new production lines of first phase of Dung Quat Hoa Phat Steel Integrated Complex in the central Quang Ngai Province would come into operation by the end of this year.
