Hoa Phat steel chosen in runway renovation project of Noi Bai International Airport

The project to renovate runway of Noi Bai International Airport was started its construction by the end of June 2020. Hoa Phat steel was chosen as input material for reinforced concrete during the project’s construction.

This is one of many public investment projects that have chosen Hoa Phat steel in recent times. The types of steel supplied to the project are deformed bar steel manufactured according to TCVN 1651-2018 standard at Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel integrated Complex. Hoa Phat steel is expected to supply an estimated volume of 20,000 tonnes for the project.

Being an important project, the Ministry of Transport, the Thang Long Project Management Board has given high requirements on technical factors and overall quality. With construction materials, the steel samples have been analyzed to ensure all technical requirements, product quality, especially tensile strength and elongation before being put into construction.

A representative from the supervision consultancy unit (COINCO) assessed that Hoa Phat steel ensured the technical specifications according to the design documents and technical instructions of the project.

The upgrade project of the Noi Bai International Airport will renovate existing runways and building new quick exit taxiways of S3A, S5B, S6B; improving and upgrading existing taxiways (S1, S1A, S2, S3, S4, S5, S5A, S6, S7); building works serving for flight management, signal lights, signal painting, water drainage systems and synchronous auxiliary works. The total investment of the project is VND2.03 trillion, of which construction cost is VND1.44 trillion from the State budget.

The project is implemented by a consortium of construction contractors including Aviation Construction Corporation (ACC) - Viet Nam Investment Construction and Development Joint Stock Company (VINADIC) - Truong Son Construction Corporation. The supervision consultancy contractor is Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Joint Stock Company (CONINCO). The project’s first phase is expected to be completed before the Lunar New Year.

In parallel with Noi Bai International Airport, Hoa Phat construction steel was also selected to renovate Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong). With Tan Son Nhat International Airport, in addition to meeting technical standards and product quality, Hoa Phat steel is the only unit capable of supplying products to ensure project progress.

With the closed production process using blast furnace technology, oxygen blowing furnace, Hoa Phat construction steel is deeply removed impurities, meeting all the most stringent construction standards both inside and outside the country. As a result, Hoa Phat construction steel has been often selected by contractors and consultants to execute the national key projects.
