Loading ouput at Hoa Phat Dung Quat port doubled the whole 2019

The loading output this year saw a surge as all wharves of Hoa Phat Dung Quat port have been completed and cargo handling capacity is at maximum level. At present, vessels with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes can easily dock at the port.

In addition, all of production lines at Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex has gradually become stable operation, resulting in higher demand for importing materials and exporting more products than those of 2019. Coal, ore, limestone and dolomite are the most imported commodities, accounting for 73 per cent of the imported 6 million tonnes in the port so far this year. These are important raw materials for production and business activities for Hoa Phat steel factories.

Meanwhile, finished products and semi-finished products such as rebar, coil, billet and blast furnace slag are the most exported items. In addition, a large amount of raw coal has been exported to serve production at Hoa Phat Hai Duong Iron and Steel Complex.

Of the 11 wharves at Dung Quat port, wharf 10th and 11th can accommodate vessels with the largest tonnage up to 200,000 tonnes. On July 31, 2020, wharf 11th welcomed the LowLands Erica with a tonnage of 176,000 tonnes carrying raw ore from Brazil to Hoa Phat. This has been the largest vessel to dock at Hoa Phat port.

In Vietnam, Hoa Phat Group is the first Vietnamese enterprise capable of building and operating a large-scale deep-water port. The port is modernly equipped, especially a conveyor system that helps transfer goods directly from vessels to warehouses. In particular, Hoa Phat Dung Quat port has great advantages in logistic transport, making it easy for Hoa Phat steel to quickly and fully supply demand in the South and export markets.
