Hoa Phat Group donates VND 200 million to Hanoi Natural Calamity Prevention Fund

On November 11th 2008, the campaign calling for Hanoi Natural Calamity Prevention Fund took place in Hanoi People Committee’s office. This is the campaign to raise fund to overcome the aftermath of the downpour which caused flood in Hanoi recently.

The leaders and representatives of Hanoi People’s Committee, Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, Finance, Industry and Trade, Planning & Investment, outstanding enterprises, etc took part in the meeting. On behalf of Hoa Phat Group’s leaders, Mr. Ta Tuan Quang - Board of Directors’ member, Director of Hoa Phat Refrigeration Engineering Co., Ltd attended the meeting.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuong – Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee summarized the aftermath of the downpour in Hanoi which caused flood in widespread areas of the city with the highest level that has never happened for many years. It is estimated that the initial damage is up to more than VND 3000 billion.

According to Mr. Pham Xuan Hang – Chairman of Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, to share with the difficulties and to overcome the aftermath of the downpour and flood, Hanoi People’s Committee, Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee appealed to economic groups, enterprises, benefactors for supporting, donating the Natural Calamity Prevention Fund of the City.

Right on the 1st phase of the campaign, up to November 11th 2008, 29 enterprises have supported VND 9.5 billion. At the meeting, the representatives of the enterprises told that, in addition to supporting the Fund, the enterprises have various forms to support and share the difficulties with local authorities as well as the people of Hanoi’s districts.

Responding to the appeal of the campaign, Hoa Phat Group HPG supported VND 200 million for the Natural Calamity Prevention Fund of the City. Supporting and raising fund for social and charity activities have been always traditional of HPG. On the August flood, HPG urgently supported VND 130 million  to flood sufferers in Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces.
