On the morning of June 20, 2025, Hoa Phat Group was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee for its contributions and financial support to the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Ngai province in 2025.” Previously, Hoa Phat had donated VND 30 billion to support this program in Quang Ngai.
Hoa Phat was one of 14 organizations to receive the commendation at the conference summarizing the 2025 program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in Quang Ngai province.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for the temporary and dilapidated housing elimination program, expressed her gratitude to all organizations and individuals for their support, which enabled the initiative to be implemented quickly and smoothly, helping people to “settle down and build their livelihoods.”
As of June 20, 2025, the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in Quang Ngai had basically been completed—two months ahead of the deadline set by the Prime Minister—with all 6,331 targeted homes addressed, reaching a 100% completion rate. The total funding for the program amounted to VND 319.14 billion, of which VND 261.577 billion came from the state budget and VND 57.563 billion from donations by organizations, individuals, and businesses.
Earlier, on November 28, 2024, a representative of Hoa Phat Group (right) presented a symbolic donation of VND 30 billion to Quang Ngai province.
In response to the call from the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and relevant ministries to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing nationwide by the end of 2025, Hoa Phat Group committed to funding the construction of more than 1,500 houses for disadvantaged families across the country. This includes VND 30 billion for Quang Ngai, VND 20 billion for Phu Yen (about 1,000 homes), and the remainder for Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, presented the Certificate of Merit to Mr. Ho Duc Tho, Deputy Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Company, representing Hoa Phat Group.
Hoa Phat has invested over USD 7 billion in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai. From the project’s inception in 2017 until 2024, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel contributed nearly VND 35,000 billion to the state budget. The group’s projects in the area have created jobs for around 17,000 direct workers—more than 80% of whom are local residents—as well as tens of thousands of workers from contractors and partner companies.
In addition to its business activities, since 2017 Hoa Phat Group has allocated VND 175 billion for meaningful social welfare initiatives in Quang Ngai province. These include sponsoring medical equipment, repairing and constructing schools and roads, monthly support for orphans, providing water filtration systems to schools, and giving Tet gifts to the poor.
