Mechanical enterprises to use Hoa Phat products the most, driving localization

On June 2, 2025, a delegation from the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Enterprises (VAMI) visited and worked at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex. Witnessing first-hand the leading steel production complex in Southeast Asia, Mr. Nguyen Chi Sang – Chairman of VAMI – affirmed that mechanical enterprises strongly support domestic manufacturing and will prioritize using Hoa Phat’s products to the greatest extent possible. This cooperation will help create supply and production chains across industries.

Hoa Phat Group CEO Nguyen Viet Thang shared that the Group is eager to produce a wide range of special steel and high-quality steel.

The delegation, led by VAMI Chairman Mr. Nguyen Chi Sang, included Vice Chairmen of the association, leaders of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, and representatives from nearly 30 enterprises and organizations in the mechanical sector across the country. Representing Hoa Phat Group were Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang – CEO of the Group; Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien – Deputy CEO; Mr. Mai Van Ha – Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC, along with members of the management board and department representatives.

CEO Nguyen Viet Thang expressed his gratitude to the VAMI delegation for visiting the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex and emphasized the great potential for cooperation between the two sides. He noted that Vietnam's mechanical industry has promising development prospects, opening up investment opportunities in the field of engineering steel. Hoa Phat is passionate about producing a wide variety of special and high-quality steels and is committed to pioneering in this field to contribute to the advancement of Vietnam’s mechanical industry. With strong investments in technology, Hoa Phat’s products are competitive both domestically and internationally.

Mr. Nguyễn Chỉ Sáng, VAMI Chairman, emphasized that mechanical enterprises will use Hoa Phat products to the fullest extent.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Sang praised the warm welcome and openness from Hoa Phat, stating that Hoa Phat is a prime example of success in Vietnam’s metallurgy and mechanical industries. “Seeing the expansive 700-hectare steel production complex firsthand, VAMI realizes this is the pride of Vietnam’s mechanical industry, which showcases mastery of technology and the value chain. Mechanical enterprises will use Hoa Phat products to the fullest extent,” he affirmed.

During the visit, the delegation explored Hoa Phat’s steel production capabilities and its advanced manufacturing lines for hot-rolled steel and high-quality steel at key facilities within the complex, including Blast Furnace No. 5, the Pig Iron Plant, Long Steel Rolling Mill, HRC2 Plant, and Berths No. 1 and 2 at the Hòa Phát Dung Quất dedicated port.

Mechanical, shipbuilding, oil and gas, and automotive companies within the association expressed their strong impressions after the site visit, noting the vast potential for cooperation between the two sides. They highlighted the importance of fostering localization and developing a domestic mechanical-metallurgical supply chain, jointly aiming to build a self-reliant, modern, and sustainable industry.
