Hoa Phat produces 7 million tons of steel in the first half of 2026, up 36% over the same period in 2025

In the second quarter of 2026, Hoa Phat Group produced over 3.6 million tons of crude steel (steel billets), an increase of 48% compared to the second quarter of 2025 and a 9% increase compared to the first quarter of 2026. Sales volume for construction steel products, high-quality steel coils, hot-rolled coils, and steel billets reached 3.5 million tons, up 35% compared to the same period last year.

Within those figures, construction steel and high-quality steel coils recorded 1.3 million tons, an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2025 and a decrease of 9% compared to the first quarter of 2026. Hoa Phat Steel maintains the number 1 market share in Vietnam at 36% and is present in more than 45 countries and territories across five continents worldwide.

Hoa Phat Steel is widely used in key projects, such as: the expansion project of Tan Son Nhat Airport, Phu Quốc Airport, the US Embassy in Hanoi, the North-South Expressway, the Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, My Thuan 2 Bridge, the pedestrian bridge over the Sai Gon River, and new bridge projects over the Red River (Tran Hung Dao Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge), and more.

For hot-rolled coil (HRC), the sales volume in the second quarter reached 1.9 million tons, an increase of 31% compared to the first quarter of 2026 and a 64% increase compared to the same period last year. Currently, domestic market consumption accounts for 80% of HRC sales, with the remaining portion exported. Hoa Phat has exported HRC to 20 countries and territories across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa.

Hoa Phat also supplies domestic and export markets with downstream products like steel pipes, galvanized sheets, and prestressed steel. In the second quarter of 2026, the Group supplied 212,000 tons of steel pipes and 83,000 tons of galvanized sheets. Prestressed steel and drawn wire hit over 65,000 tons, up 59% year-on-year.

Accumulated for the first 6 months of the year, Hoa Phat Group produced nearly 7 million tons of crude steel, up 36% compared to the same period in 2025. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and steel billets reached 6.5 million tons, up 32% compared to the first half of last year.

Sales volume of HRC hot-rolled coil recorded nearly 3.4 million tons, an increase of 57% compared to the first 6 months of 2025. Currently, Hoa Phat is the only Vietnamese company capable of producing hot-rolled coil (HRC) steel. Notably, at the beginning of 2026, the Group produced and exported to the US and Europe many types of high-quality, specialty HRC serving the oil and gas and mechanical engineering industries with steel grades J55, J55-UP, X52, X70, HSLA 55, and recently S700MC.

During the first 6 months of the year, the Group also supplied 453,000 tons of steel pipes to the market, an increase of 13% compared to the first half of 2025; and 189,000 tons of galvanized steel sheets, a decrease of 5% compared to the same period last year.

Hoa Phat Group is currently the largest steel manufacturer in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 16 million tons. Out of this, over 60% of production consists of high-quality steel types, serving industries like mechanical engineering, car manufacturing, shipbuilding, oil and gas, home appliances, steel structures, and energy. Hoa Phat is currently deploying the Steel Rail and Special Steel Factory project in Dung Quat. The factory is expected to turn out steel rail products in the second quarter of 2027, serving key railway projects in Vietnam and for export to international markets.
