Hoa Phat honored by the Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee for social welfare contributions

The Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee recently held a 2025 Business and Investor Meeting to mark Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13). At the event, Hoa Phat Group received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee in recognition of its outstanding contributions to social welfare and to the province’s socio-economic development.

The event was attended by Mr. Ho Van Nien, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Standing Committee, vice chairmen of the People’s Committee, and representatives from 250 enterprises, entrepreneurs, and investors across the province. Hoa Phat Group was represented by Mr. Mai Van Ha, Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Hien expressed gratitude to the local business community, affirming the province’s commitment to maintaining a transparent, open, and business-friendly investment environment, while promptly addressing challenges to help enterprises confidently invest and expand operations.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee presented Certificates of Merit to 13 enterprises for their achievements in implementing social welfare initiatives — among them, Hoa Phat Group.

As the largest enterprise in Quang Ngai Province, Hoa Phat has considered the province a strategic investment location since launching the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex in 2017. The Group has allocated significant resources to social welfare programs, delivering long-term, practical value to the local community.

On August 21, 2025, Hoa Phat Group and Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC held a handover ceremony for the newly built Binh Dong Primary School in Van Tuong Commune, Quang Ngai Province. The project, fully funded by Hoa Phat on a turnkey basis, had a total investment of VND 42 billion.

Previously, the Group contributed VND 30 billion to support Quang Ngai’s program for eradicating makeshift and dilapidated houses for disadvantaged households; over VND 5 billion to improve infrastructure at Binh Dong Secondary School and 18/3 Kindergarten; and donated water purifiers to local schools. Hoa Phat also regularly organizes Tet gift programs for low-income families and provides support for orphans and disadvantaged children in the province.

To date, Hoa Phat has contributed a total of VND 175 billion to meaningful social welfare initiatives in Quang Ngai Province, focusing on four key areas: Education – Healthcare – Transportation – Community Development.
