Hoa Phat Group in the Top 40 most valuable brandnames in Viet Nam

Forbes Việt Nam on July 3rd 2017 announced the list of Top 40 most valuable brandnames in Viet Nam with total value of more than US$5.4 billion. With brandname value of $76 million, Hoa Phat Group took the 13rd position in the prestigious ranking, increasing 3 places from 2016.

According to Forbes Việt Nam, Hoa Phat’s brandname value rose by $12 million or 18.7 per cent within a year from $64.1 million in 2016 to $76 million in 2017.

Established in 1992, Hoa Phat Group has affirmed its leading brandname in many sectors such as construction steel, steel pipe, office furniture, building equipment and real estate etc. Hoa Phat has been one of a few multi-sector industrial firms having transparent financial situation. The group has been given high valuation and trust from investors both inside and outside the country.

In 2016, Hoa Phat reached the revenue of VND33.8 trillion and after-tax profit of VND6.6 trillion. These figures were increased by 34 per cent and 89 per cent from the previous year in terms of revenue and after-tax profit and surpassing 21 per cent and 106 per cent of the set targets respectively. With the positive business results, Hoa Phat contributed VND3.4 trillion to the State budget, representing 24 per cent year-on-year increase and listed in the Top 30 largest tax payers in Viet Nam. The steel sector has been its key business which contributed over 80 per cent of its total revenue and profit in the past years.

Hoa Phat Group has been honoured as the national brandname, Top 10 most strong brandnames in Viet Nam for years. Earlier, the Forbes Viet Nam also announced the list of Top 50 best listed companies which are leading listed firms in the stock market. HPG was in the prestigious ranking for five consecutive years.

Forbes Việt Nam calculated the role of brandname’s contributions to companies’ business results. The most valuable brandnames had big revenue in their sectors. The data collection based on companies’ financial reports and data in the stock market. The brandname’s value is based on the price-earning ratio (P/E).

The brandname valuation has been also a reliable indicator for investors. In 2016, the world leading brandname valuation firm Brand Finance rated Hoa Phat at AA for two consecutive years with value of more than $60 million.
