Hoa Phat’s member companies rewarded for their tax works

Taxation Department of Hung Yen Province on July 14^th 2017 organised the conference to honour outstanding businesses in 2016 and business forum 2017. The conference was attended by chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mt. Nguyen Van Phong and leaders of agencies, departments and more than 200 outstanding firms in the province.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thao Nguyen, deputy general director of Hoa Phat Group and representatives of its subsidiaries attended the event as one of businesses in the non-governmental sector with most contribution to the province.

Hoa Phat Group accounts for third-fifth of businesses in Hung Yen Province were awarded merit for their tax duties from the Ministry of Finance. The companies include Hoa Phat Steel One Member Company Ltd, Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company Ltd, Pho Noi A Management Company Ltd  

According to the province’s report, its total tax collection in 2016 was VND6.7 trillion, surpassing 10.7 per cen of the set targets and increasing 25.5 per cent from the previous year. Of which, Hoa Phat’s subsidiaries contributed up to VND715 billion (excluding customs tax, value added tax on imported goods). Hoa Phat’s contribution to the province’s State budget accounted for more than 10 per cent of Hung Yen’s total tax collection and over 40 per cent of non-governmental sector. It is expected that the group’s contribution to the province’s State budget would surge in 2017. In the first half of the year, Hoa Phat contributed VND658 billion to the State budget.

With the great contributions to Hung Yen Province, the Ministry of Finance, the People’s Committee, General Department of Taxation awarded merits to Hoa Phat’s subsidiaries including Hoa Phat Steel One Member Company Ltd, Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company, Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company Ltd, Hoa Phat Furniture Joint Stock Company, Pho Noi A Industrial Park Management Company – Hung Yen Branch, Hoa Phat Cold Rolled Steel Company and Hoa Phat Equipment and Accessories Company Ltd.

Established in 1992, Hoa Phat has been one of leading multi-sector industrial production groups in Viet Nam and one of biggest firms in Hung Yen Province. Hoa Phat posted revenue of VND33.8 trillion and after-tax profit of VND6.6 trillion in 2016, representing 34 per cent and 89 per cent year-on-year increases and surpassing 21 per cent and 106 per cent of set targets in terms of revenue and after-tax profit respectively.

With the positive results, Hoa Phat contributed more than VND3.4 trillion to the State budget, increasing 24 per cent from the previous year and in the Top 30 of largest tax payers in Viet Nam.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mr. Nguyen Van Phong directly answered questions from businesses on land clearance policies, natural resources management, land, taxes as well as requiring the Department of Industry and Trade and Electricity of Hung Yen to have solutions to submit to the Government on power tariff management.

The province’s leaders also asked departments and Taxation Department to continue their administrative reform and improving business environment while establishing centres for land development fund in districts to quickly support businesses for their long-term operation in the province.
