Hoa Phat supports VND 50 million for the Can Tho bridge collapse victims

On 27th September 2007, Hoa Phat Group donated VND 50 million to help the victims of the Can Tho bridge disaster through the Thanh Nien representative office in Ha Noi.

The Can Tho bridge collapse killed 42 and injured 87 people. It’s the biggest disaster of its kind in Viet Nam’s construction history. It is not only the pain of the relatives and neighbours but is also the common pain of the whole country.

In order to partially deal with the aftermath, share and ease the pain of the victims, as well as their families, Hoa Phat Board of Directors decided to donate VND 50 million to help the victims. Ms Vu Ngoc Thuy – Director of PR Department, on behalf Hoa Phat Group handed the sum to Mr Nguyen Quoc Phong – Deputy Editor in Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper.

Hoa Phat Group is the first enterprise to donate funds to help the Can Tho bridge disaster victims through the Thanh Nien Newspaper representative office in Hanoi.
