Hoa Phat Steel’s sale reached 171,000 tonnes in September

The sale rose by 21.2 per cent from the same period last year. Of which, the steel export volume was nearly 10,000 tonnes. Hoa Phat completed 80 per cent of its sale plan for the construction steel.

For high quality steel wire, the consumption in both local and foreign markets have been positive with output of some 25,500 tonnes, accounting for more than a half of total steel wire output in September.

In the first 9 months of the year, Hoa Phat’s construction steel sale was nearly 1.6 million tonnes, representing 31 per cent year-on-year increase and meeting with 80 per cent of the whole year’s set targets. Mr. Dinh Quang Hieu, head of the Marketing Department said Hoa Phat could soon complete its consumption plan of 2 million tonnes of steels this year as the average consumption was 177,000 tonnes per month. The demand in the market would be higher in the year-end months.

In the central and southern markets, Hoa Phat steel has gradually increased its output month by month. Specifically, the steel consumption in the south reached 40,000-50,000 tonnes per month. Thank to advantages of river ports at its factories, Hoa Phat has been easy to transport its steels to branches in Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.

Thanks to river transportation and convenient sea way, Hoa Phat construction steel price in the south market is quite competitive. Estimated cost of transporting 1 tonne of steel to Da Nang and Binh Dinh Provinces by sea equivalent or slightly lower than the 1 tonne of steel transported by road from the Hai Duong factory to Ha Noi.

The Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex has been in right progress and given active supports from the central Quang Ngai Province. Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company and Italian Danieli Group signed a contract to provide thin slab caster and hot-rolled mill with total capacity of 3.5 million tonnes a year. This has been the most modern thin slab caster and hot-rolled line in the world.
