Hoa Phat sold 300,000 tonnes of steel in July

Hoa Phat construction steel record a sale of 300,000 tonnes in July, increasing 27.5 per cent from the same period last year and 19 per cent from the previous month. Of which, its steel exports reached 53,500 tonnes, double than that of the corresponding period last year.

The Southern region continued to record an impressive increase in production, more than two times higher than the same period in 2019 with 75,000 tonnes. Consumption in civil constructions still contributed the most to the overall result of Hoa Phat Steel.

The Gvernment's policy of promoting public investment has recently begun to come into practice. Many infrastructure projects have been implemented such as the North-South expressway project (the section running through Quang Tri - Hue - Da Nang), the repairing and upgrading runways of international airports, hospital buildings, schools and thermal power projects. Most of the projects chose to use Hoa Phat steel for their construction.

In the first seven months of the year, Hoa Phat construction steel supplied 1.81 million tonnes of finished steel products to the market, representing 14.5 per cent year-on-year increase. In particular, the output of exported steel products was 256,500 tonnes, up 73.3 per cent and equivalent to the export volume of the whole last year. The main import markets include Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, and Thailand and Cambodia.

In addition to finished steel, Hoa Phat has provided the market with one million tonnes of steel billet, serving construction steel production. Of which, the amount in July was 169,000 tonnes.

The completion of construction complies with the maritime safety standards of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Specialised Port has contributed significantly to the transport of goods for Hoa Phat Steel, boosting the supply to market. Recently, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port (belonging to Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Manufacturing Complex) welcomed a capesize ship with a tonnage of 176,000 tonnes, the largest ever to dock.

Hoa Phat Group has strengthened its prevention measures during the COVID-19 pandemic under the guidance of the Ministry of Health as soon as the first case of the disease appeared in the community in the central city of Da Nang. Measures are being applied such as compulsory wearing a mask, measuring body temperature, regularly disinfecting hands, washing hands, spraying disinfecting working areas, ensuring distances, installing shift-eating partitions, etc. Hoa Phat has actively reviewed the permanent resident staff in localities where people with COVID-19 have been affected to arrange plans to organise activities on the company's premises and do not go home to avoid infection.
