Hoa Phat Expands Container Supply Partnership with Vinafco

Vinafco has signed a contract to purchase 750 TEUs of containers from Hoa Phat Group to support its fleet expansion and logistics development plans. This marks the second order from the company with Hoa Phat.

The signing ceremony took place on the morning of May 29 at Hoa Phat's container manufacturing plant, with the participation of executives from both sides, Vinafco’s branch managers, and material supply partners.

Under the agreement, Hoa Phat will supply 750 TEUs, including 20DC and 40HC containers, with delivery starting in August 2025. These containers will be deployed to serve Vinafco’s existing container fleet and domestic transport routes currently operated by the company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Xuan Hung, General Director of Vinafco Shipping Joint Stock Company, stated: "Vinafco’s demand for containers is rising sharply due to our plans to expand sea transport capacity. We currently operate two container ships and will add another vessel this year. This contract allows us to secure equipment proactively and strengthen our service capacity for customers.”

Previously, Vinafco ordered 200 containers from Hoa Phat. According to Mr.Hung, after a period of operation, the containers performed reliably and met practical requirements well, which laid the foundation for this larger follow-up order.

Mr. Vu Duc Sinh, Director of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Company, shared that the company is enhancing technical innovation and production capacity to serve both domestic and international partners. “Receiving another order from Vinafco is a positive signal that Hoa Phat containers are gradually earning market trust. We aim to deliver internationally standardized products—manufactured in Vietnam but capable of reaching global markets,” Mr. Sinh added.

Following the signing ceremony, Vinafco representatives toured the Hoa Phat container plant to learn about the production process, materials, and technical inspection system. Both parties expressed hopes to further expand their collaboration, especially as the logistics industry shows strong growth potential.

Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company currently operates a factory with a total capacity of 500,000 TEUs per year, focusing on the production of standard 20- and 40-foot dry freight containers. Phase 1, with a capacity of 200,000 TEUs annually, primarily produces dry containers, making Hoa Phat the largest ISO container manufacturer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
