Hoa Phat reached record sale of 3 million tonnes of steel

The key business sector of Hoa Phat Group made a record high sale in 2017 with 3 million tonnes of steels, increasing 25 per cent from the previous year. Of which, the construction steel sale accounted for 2.2 million tonnes, steel pipe 600,000 tonnes and the remaining was galvanised steel.

Hoa Phat’s construction steel made a new sale record in 2017

This was the first time that Hoa Phat Steel has surpassed 2 million tonnes per year, growing 20 per cent compared to 2016. This figure exceeded 10 per cent of the set plan in 2017. In the domestic market, Hoa Phat continued confirmed the leading position with 24 per cent market share. Product sales in the central and southern regions are growing rapidly. In addition, Hoa Phat sold 79,000 tonnes of steel billets to domestic and foreign markets.

Hoa Phat exported more than 161,000 tonnes of steel bars and coils to markets such as the US, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Cambodia, etc. Export volumes have been on the rise to the demanding markets showing high competitiveness of Hoa Phat steel. Especially, high quality welding rod steel labelled SAE1006, SAE1008 ... has been given positive responses from overseas market.

Steel pipe and galvanized rolled steel sheet contribute significantly to the overall high sale of Hoa Phat’s steel products

Hoa Phat Group also exceeded its annual plan of over 600,000 tonnes of steel pipes and 200,000 tonnes of galvanized steel sheets (material for galvanized steel pipes and many other products).

With this result, Hoa Phat has strengthened its leading position in the steel industry in Viet Nam. The two main products of the group including construction steel and steel pipes take the lead in the market, respectively 24 per cent and almost 27 per cent.
