Hoa Phat participates the seminar on “Benefit of Business Merger, Acquisition (M & A) and concern issues”

On June 29th, at Melia Hotel (Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi), Hoa Phat Group has participated in the seminar “Benefit of Business Merger, Acquisition (M & A) and concern issues”, organized by the State Securities Commission, Vietnam Ernst & Young Audit company and Ban Viet Securities Company.

The seminar had representatives of the organizers and much of enterprises. Hoa Phat Group’s participants included Mrs. Ly Thi Ngan - Director of Finance, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thao Nguyen - Chief of Legal & Control Department, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Van - Chief of Accountant and some other staffs.

At the conference, speakers presented an overview of M & A, the legal issues of M & A in the Vietnam stock exchange market, some concern issues during and after M & A - sharing with the perspective of business consulting, implementation experience in M & A on the stock market. M & A activity is forecasted to be more dynamic in the future

M & A is being applied by many companies as a strategic solution of development or restructuring, reorganization under a new strategy. There have been many M & A taken place successfully in many enterprises in Vietnam: Petro Vietnam Drilling Investment JSC (PVDI) annexed to Petro Vietnam Services and Drilling Corporation (PVD); Ha Tien 2 Cement JSC (HT2) merged into Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company (HT1) ... 

In the actual development process, Hoa Phat Group successfully conducted many M & A to increase its member companies, associated companies, thereby expanding the scope, position, and proportions in many areas ... Most recently, in the second quarter of 2010, the Group has successfully annexed Hoa Phat Energy JSC as the 11th member of the Group, owning of 99.86% charter capital.

Through the seminar, Hoa Phat Group in particular and businesses in general had an overview over the activities of M & A, and this was an opportunity for enterprises to seek more cooperation and implement M & A in the future.
