Hoa Phat officially shipped the first container products

On August 4, 2023, Hoa Phat Container Production Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to hand over a shipment of 100 20-foot containers to New Way Lines Co., Ltd. This is the first shipment that Hoa Phat Group provides to the market after 2 years of investing in a container factory project in the expanded Phu My II Industrial Park - Phu My Town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Board of Management of Hoa Phat Group cum General Director of Hoa Phat Steel Products Joint Stock Company, the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Container Production Joint Stock Company and representatives of the company’s customers, partners and suppliers.

The Hoa Phat container factory has a total capacity of 500,000 TEU a year, focusing on popular container products from 20-40 feet. In which, phase 1 with a capacity of 200,000 TEU a year was completed and put into operation. With this capacity, Hoa Phat is the largest container manufacturer in Vietnam as well as in Southeast Asia.

The main raw material for the production of empty container is HRC steel, special grade SPA-H which is weather resistant. This is a product of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex and a great advantage for the company in investing in the production of containers.

Mr. Vu Duc Sinh, Director of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, said that with the advantage and experience in the field of steel production and the investment in the latest equipment and technology, the company is committed to providing international standard container products to meet the needs of the shipping industry.

Accordingly, Hoa Phat's container is designed, manufactured and tested according to international standards, fully meeting the technical requirements in transcontinental freight transport. All processes from input materials, production process and product acceptance are strictly controlled by an advanced quality management system with a high degree of automation. Each container is numbered for management. Hoa Phat container's logo is pasted on the bottom of right door for easy identification.

At the ceremony, the company also handed over the first container shipment to its partner - Vietsun, and signed the next contract with New Way Lines Company to supply 500 20-foot containers.

In the coming time, Hoa Phat Group will optimize production management and expand the market to reach the designing container products capacity in phase 1, taking advantage of opportunities from the logistics market. It is expected that the group will continue to invest in phase 2 at an appropriate time to reach a total capacity of 500,000 TEU a year.

With this capacity, Hoa Phat Container Factory could consume 1 million tons of HRC hot-rolled coil a year, which is a good output for the current Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex and Dung Quat 2 Project, completing the value-added chain in Hoa Phat's iron and steel production ecosystem.
