Hoa Phat imports the first batch of GGP pigs from Denmark

Dawn May 26, 2016, the first pig batch in livestock segment of Hoa Phat arrived at Noi Bai airport, after a long journey from Denmark to Vietnam. Nearly 500 pigs of great grandparent (GGP) with an average weight of 40-60kg (10-18 weeks old) are healthy, safe and customs clearance, veterinary inspection procedures at Noi Bai.

Nearly 30 officers and employees of the Hoa Phat Livestock Development JSC and Hoa Phuoc Livestock Co., Ltd. Hoa Phuoc were present 4hours before the plane landing and prepared to ensure that no negligence occurs. This is the first purchase and receive a very close attention of the Group leadership from the stage of understanding genetic resources, select vendors, design, build suitable breeding facilities for each kind of pig, the production processes ... in accordance with biological safety standards of European countries.

According to company executives, purebred pigs were purchased from DanBred partner – Denmark, the leading country in the world on genetic resources of high quality pig breeding, farming techniques are very modern, especially high demands on strict care procedures. Before the pigs were imported several days, the company had carefully prepared facility; disinfected and quarantined the region is expected to get pork. At Noi Bai cargo port, lorries and staff directly involved in receiving pigs must be disinfected, antiseptic prescribed at least 3 times.


After that, all of purebred pigs have been moved to the breeding facility in Yen Bai safely

Mr Nguyen Van Khanh - Engineering and Technical manager said that, all options of materials, people, transport, ... were carefully calculated on the advice basis of Danish leading livestock experts to move pig from cargo port to the farm as quickly as possible, ensuring pigs healthy and the safest.

It is expected that after about 10 weeks, Hoa Phat will continue to import the next purebred swine to develop herd, reproduction. According to schedule, the company will start offering pigs, piglets from early 2018 and set a target of 650,000 pigs by 2021.
