Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC and CITECK signed agreement to implement SAP S/4HANA

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC, a member of Hoa Phat Group and Citek Technology JSC signed a deal on June 8 over a project to deploy an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system called SAP S/4HANA at the billion-dollar Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex in the central coast province of Quang Ngai.

SAP S/4HANA is a business suite built on SAP’s proprietary operational database system and in-memory computing platform called SAP HANA.

The solution will allow the operator of the steel complex to plan and manage all of its production and business activities.

The project, which will be implemented in 10 months, includes the management of purchase, warehouse, barcode, production, sales, product quality and maintenance; financial and management accounting; integration of electronic scales; and production equipment.

When the system is in place, Hoa Phat Group will have an international standard management system with real-time production and business data, and indicators for business performance.

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex, which costs a total of VND52 trillion (US$2.27 billion), is expected to turn out four million tons of steel a year.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Mai Van Ha – director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC said in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the decision to choose SAP ERP S/4HANA showed Hoa Phat Group’s strong determination and the company in applying modern administration solutions to operate the large scale complex with capacity of more than 4 million tonnes of steel per year while improving its information transparency in production segments.
