Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port welcomes the first ship

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port on January 20th 2019 welcomed the first cargo ship named Châu Thành 36 carrying 1,800 tonnes of billet from the port of Hoa Phat Hai Duong Complex in Kinh Mon District to Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex.

The welcome ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Quang Tùng, deputy director of Steel Joint Stock Company and staffs.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trinh, Director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port, the port is one of the most important projects of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex, because it is a huge advantage and unique of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel.

It also helps optimise logistic problems; easily import input materials; load and unload goods; export finished goods from the complex to domestic and foreign markets.

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port has a total of 11 berths, allowing ships of 50,000 - 200,000 DWT to dock.

It is expected that by the end of March 2019, the first phase of the port project will be completed, including 9 berths capable of accommodating vessels of 100,000 tonnes.

Phase 2 will complete the last two terminals, which are expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2019.

11 ports of Hoa Phat will have a total capacity of 32 million tonne a year including export and import goods.
