Hoa Phat attended Quang Ngai Investment Promotion Conference 2017

The Quang Ngai Investment Promotion Conference 2017 was held on October 20^th themed “Quang Ngai – investment co-operation and development”. Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, leaders of ministries, agencies and businesses both inside and outside the country attended the event.

The conference was also attended by leaders of Quang Ngai Province: Mr. Le Viet Chu - Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee, Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang – chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, leaders of ministries. Mr. Tran Tuan Duong – general director of Hoa Phat Group, Mr. Mai Van Ha – director of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company also attended the conference as the largest investor in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Tuan Duong, Hoa Phat’s general director said Quang Ngai Province has potentials for economic development. Under the development planning approved by the Prime Minister, Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) will become an important EZ with key sectors of oil refinery, heavy industry with large scale such as mechanics, metallurgy, steel rolling, shipbuilding and support industry.

With prestige and strong financial strength, Hoa Phat Group has been entrusted by the Government and People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province to continue implementing the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex project with capacity of 4 million tonnes per year and total investment over VND50 trillion. Mr. Tran Tuan Duong said that after being assigned to carry out this project, it was allocated land and completed construction investment procedures with active support from local authorities.

At the same time, Hoa Phat selected construction contractors and equipment suppliers with most modern technology. "All of major machinery such as blast furnace and steel rolling are imported from G7 countries such as Italy and Germany. Particularly, the project's hot rolled steel production line is considered the most modern in the world today, "Mr. Duong emphasized.

To show its strong commitment, Hoa Phat Group is studying and proposing to the EZ and Quang Ngai People's Committee to continue implementing some downstream projects of metallurgical sector to increase the value of steel product chain. 

Leaders of Quang Ngai Province granted investment licences to 14 projects including Hoa Phat Group

Hoa Phat's projects will contribute about VND4 trillion to the provincial State budget, creating a spill-over effect to the local development. At the meeting, leaders of Quang Ngai Province awarded investment certificates to 14 projects, including the factory for support industry manufacturing and parking facilities for the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung requested ministries and sectors to solve difficulties in Quang Ngai, creating conditions on mechanisms and policies for the province to attract investment and socio-economic development. He also urged Quang Ngai Province to accelerate administrative reform, improve investment environment, simplify administrative procedures, improve competitiveness, shorten time and cost savings for investors.

This has been also a theme clarified by the province’s leaders in 2017: “Renovation leadership, management; improving business environment and start-ups”.
