Hoa Phat and Vietnam’s king of shrimp Minh Phu promote cooperation

Hoa Phat Group, Minh Phu Seafood Group – Vietnam’s largest shrimp processing company and Tien Phong Plastic on December 12^th 2018 signed a comprehensive agreement in HCM City. Under the signing, Hoa Phat would provide all products relating to steel pipes to Minh Phu Seafood Corporation till the end of 2019.

Accordingly, Hoa Phat would provide hot-dip galvanized steel pipe, galvanized steel pipe and welded black steel pipe produced at Hoa Phat’s steel pipe plants in the southern region. The products would be used for the project to upgrade and invest in 16,000 shrimp ponds for exports and 8,000 shrimp nursery ponds. Minh Phu Seafood Group will order the products for 200 ponds this month.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, vice chairman of Hoa Phat Group’s management board cum general director of Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company said “with the leading position in the sectors which the companies are operating, we are proud of accompanying with the largest shrimp processing group in Vietnam and expected to have long-term cooperation with Minh Phu Seafood Group in implementing their projects, promoting development of all parties in the future”.

Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company is a member of Hoa Phat Group. Established in 1996, the company now has five steel pipe plants nationwide including two in the southern region – Binh Duong steel pipe plant and Long An steel pipe plant. Hoa Phat’s steel pipe production system meets with the most strict quality requirements, especially the demanding export markets such as the US, Canada and Australia. Hoa Phat’s steel pipe products follow strict quality management process. Each product has adaquate information of thickness and production.

Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company in November 2018 produced more than 600,000 tonnes of steel pipe and sales of 598,400 tonnes, posting 14.5 per cent year-on-year increase. Of which, 15,100 tonnes were exported. Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company therefore continued to affirming its leading position with market share of 27.41 per cent. In addition, it has continued to promoting exports with growth rate of 67 per cent from the same period last year.

Minh Phu Seafood Group has been the leader in Vietnam’s seafood sector with 10 member companies, four shrimp processing plants and 8 subsidiaries. Its products are available in more than 50 countries and territories with revenue of US$800 million a year.
