For 25 years of development, Hoa Phat Group has always performed its social responsibilities which come from their heart with the motto "Harmony with development". This has been reflected in the increasing contribution to the State budget annually, social security, job creation for thousands of workers and a series of social charity programs.

Hoa Phat Group contributed VND5 trillion of taxes and fees to the State budget in 2017, increasing 40 per cent from the previous year. Of which, it contributed the highest amount to Hai Duong Province with more than VND2 trillion.

Hoa Phat Group has been the second largest tax payer to Hai Duong Province and in the Top 10 largest contributors to the province. With more than VND1.2 trillion, Hoa Phat continued to be the biggest contributor to Hung Yen Province, accounting for 12 per cent of total provincial budget revenue and over 40 per cent of total revenue from non-state enterprises in Hung Yen Province.

Hoa Phat also contributed to other 23 provinces in the country, including Hai Phong (VND332 billion), Ho Chi Minh City (VND253 billion), Ha Giang (over VND200 billion), Quang Ninh (VND180 billion), Binh Duong (VND81 billion), Ha Noi (VND63 billion)...

In Quang Ngai Province, Hoa Phat Group has a considerable contribution to the province's State budget with VND43 billion though its Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex has been in the initial period. It is expected that when the project runs at full capacity, Hoa Phat will contribute VND5 trillion a year to Quang Ngai Province's budget.

With the current growth rate, it is expected that when Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex comes to operation at full capacity from 2020, Hoa Phat will reach over VND100 trillion of revenue and contributing about VND10 trillion to the State budget. Of which, Quang Ngai Province would account for a half of this number.

“Love beats”

"Love beats" is a special humanitarian program launched by Hoa Phat Group in late 2015, to fund heart surgery for patients in difficult circumstances. The program is combined with leading doctors at prestigious hospitals such as Hanoi Medical University, Viet Duc Hospital, E Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital ... to screen and outline treatments for each patient to have best support for each case.

In 2017, Hoa Phat Group sponsored free surgeries for 60 children with the total cost of nearly VND1.5 billion. The 60 successful surgeries mean 60 heart beats bring new life to children and their families.

The Hoa Phat Group's timely financial support has helped many families reduce worries and burden on surgery costs as well as bring hope to live, joy for children on the road to win the disease.

“Free meals – a sweet heart”

“Free meals – a sweet heart” also known as "K Hospital meal" was called by patients at the National Cancer Hospital (K Hospital), Tam Hiep 2 for the meaningful activities of Hoa Phat Group. The activity has been implemented since 2010 and will be continued to maintain in the future.

Hoa Phat Group's staffs are dedicated to the poor patients

During the past 7 years, 150 meals with full of nutrients a day have been delivered to poor patients who were treated at the hospital. That is not a big number, but it contains heart of Hoa Phat Group's staffs to share some of the pain that patients suffer as well as reduce economic burden for patients.

In the year of 2017, in order to modernize facilities of the charity kitchen, Hoa Phat Group repair the kitchen to save time cooking for serving meals, and improve the management of food safety.

“Spring of Love”

It is an annual event organized by Hoa Phat Group on the eve of the Lunar New Year, to bring a warm holiday to disadvantaged families. In 2017, "Spring of Love" came to 12 provinces and cities across the country, bringing nearly 2,000 gifts with a total value of more than VND2 billion, including cash and objects for families in difficult circumstances in the places where Hoa Phat's factories are located.

“Hoa Phat accompanies with students”

According to the agreement signed between Hoa Phat Group and National Economics University, Hoa Phat Group donates VND5 billion in the period of 2016 - 2020 to students with excellent academic performance and disadvantaged students. Each scholarship is worth VND1.1 million per student a month. Accordingly, the total value of scholarships in a semester of each student will be equivalent to VND5.5 million. In 2017, 170 students were received the scholarships, divided into 2 phases with a total funding of nearly VND950 million.

In order to facilitate the monthly scholarship awarding, Hoa Phat Group helped students open a free bank account for students and transferring scholarships through the accounts. Hoa Phat scholarships have been considered as the first companion for students to enter to their lives.

In addition to providing scholarships for students, Hoa Phat Group also sponsors VND100 million for students' scientific research projects. With the support, Hoa Phat wishes to encourage the movement of scientific research, bring valuable works to the students themselves. Also in 2017, Hoa Phat sponsored furniture for the meeting room, conference room and hall of the National Economics University's new building with a total value of more than VND2.5 billion. This is a part of the project to modernize educational facilities that Hoa Phat Group has implemented to improve teaching and learning quality in educational institutions.

"Together for the community"

In 2017, farmers in Quang Ngai Province fell into the state of high output but low prices. Traders pressed prices and even did not buy watermelon, causing losses to farmers. Farmers were in danger of falling into debt.

Hoa Phat did not support cash as previous relief activities, but mobilized personnel directly co-ordinated with farmers in Quang Ngai Province to buy 250 tonnes of watermelon and transporting to Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh, Dong Nai ...The group financed all costs of transportation, loading and unloading ... for each melon to reach consumers with price only VND2,500. In addition, Hoa Phat Group donated 70 tonnes of watermelon to build a charity house.

In 2016, Hoa Phat provided VND2 billion for the first phase of construction of Nguyen Van Linh kindergarten school in Giai Pham Commune, Yen My District, Hung Yen Province. Hoa Phat Group donated VND1 billion for the second phase of the project. The school is a place to nurture young souls in their early life.

However, the special activity that Hoa Phat accomplished in 2017 was to sponsor X-ray imaging machine for Bach Mai Hospital's emergency department with funding of VND1.5 billion. The support aimed at reducing the overload and upgrading medical services in the emergency department in particular and the Bach Mai Hospital in general.

All of the Hoa Phat Group's charity and social activities come from the unconditional volunteer, showing their corporate social responsibility. In the future, Hoa Phat Group will continue to promote its tradition in community activities.
