First 5 months 2011: Hoa Phat Steel continues holding No.1 position market share

According to latest report of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), summarizing the first 5 months in 2011, Hoa Phat Steel ranks No. 1 in the total amount of steel consumed in Viet Nam, reached more than 297 thousand tons, equivalent to 14 , 2% market share.

Although recent months are considered as the difficult time of the real estate market, which affected to the steel industry. However, the amount of Hoa Phat steel sold in 5 months increased up to 40% over the same period last year.

Production status of Hoa Phat Steel Plants are also very positive, especially in the month 05/2011 all plants of  phase 1 - Hoa Phat Steel Integrated Complex in Hai Duong are beyond capacity design and the out put reached the highest record ever. Steel Plant reached the highest output 34,188 tons, exceeded the design capacity 13.4%.

Phase 2 of Hoa Phat Steel Integrated Complex is also being actively developed with double capacity of Phase 1, contributing to increase the total capacity of Hoa Phat Steel up to 1.2 million tons per year. On 04/06/2011 Hoa Phat and MCC Group signed the general contract to implement phase 2 of Hoa Phat Steel Integrated Complex. As scheduled, MCC will complete trial operation and transfer project for Hoa Phat Group by December 2012.
