On April 8th, Hoa Phat Steel Company has completed loading of the first exporting iron shipment of Hoa Phat Integrated Steel Complex to a steel producer in Korea.
Iron exporting contract was signed between Hoa Phat Steel JSC and Samkyung Intraco Company. The iron amount of this contract is 5,000 tons and delivered at the Haiphong port in the middle of April 2010.
This first amount of pig iron will be provided for the 2nd big steel factory of South Korea – Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. This company’s production reaches 5.6 million tons of steel per year.
As representatives of SAMKYUNG INTRACO said, Hoa Phat iron quality is very good, suitable for metallurgy, especially its has low sulfur and manganese components.
Mr. Dang Thanh Cam - Director of Hoa Phat Steel JSC said: "This exporting iron lot has enormous significance, marking the success in refining iron to product steel, ensuring the production chain of integrated constructive steel, and open up the export opportunities for our other products”.
Iron refining plant is a part of Hoa Phat Integrated Steel Complex and built with the advanced technology: manufacturing from ore and coke material on 350m3 blast furnace, supported by fired of three stoves, then refining liquid iron and pour into the two lines of iron cast chain which has the capacity of 2400 tons per day. Output of the furnace is molten iron for iron cast chain and supplies to mill steel. Currently, pig iron of the company is partly provided for the steel mill at the Complex and the rest will be delivered to domestic and overseas market.
In addition to the above exporting order, the Company has also signed domestic contract with Sao Thuy Trading and Investment Company Ltd. This contract amount is 5,000 tons of pig iron, providing for Viet Steel Company in Hochiminh City.
