Chairwoman of National Assembly visits Hoa Phat hi-tech beef farm

On February 25th 2017, member of the 12th Politburo of the Communist Party and chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and leaders of the northern Thai Binh Province visited hi-tech Australian beef farm of Hoa Phat Group in Hong Minh Commune, Hung Ha District. Doan Gia Cuong, vice chairman of the group’s board of directors who is in charge of agriculture sector received the delegation.

The delegation was also attended by Nguyen Hanh Phuc, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Director of the National Assembly Office; Nguyen Duc Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Finance - Budget Committee of the National Assembly. Nguyen Thai Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Dang Trong Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of department in the Thai Binh Province attended the visit.

Doan Gia Cuong on behalf of Hoa Phat Group said “the strategy to invest into agriculture sector of Hoa Phat follows the 3F chain model: Farm – Feed – Food. In the first phase, Hoa Phat will develop maize, animal feed and husbandry, then invest in food distribution to consumers. At this time, it is the largest beef farm in Thai Binh Province with the capacity of breeding 10,000 heads. The farm is maintaining 4,000 beefs imported from Australia. In 2016, the farm  sold more than 5,000 beefs. "

Hoa Phat has also studied to invest into some other Australia beef farms in Quang Binh, Dong Nai, and Phu Tho Provinces. The raising process is closely controlled. Each of them is fitted with a health monitoring chip and a nutritional regimen to ensure that all beefs supplied to the market are of the highest quality.

Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan highly valued big enterprises like Hoa Phat in investing into hi-tech agriculture to improve value of Viet Nam’s agricultural products.

“Hoa Phat should invest into value chain. You have already had a good raising model but it is necessary to consider distribution and development of the brandname with a clear label of origin, increasing the peace of mind for consumers when using high quality food. I wish you further development,” Ms Ngan said.

Doan Gia Cuong sent Hoa Phat Group’s thanks to the chairwoman of National Assembly and members of the delegation for visiting the farm. The group committed to ensure its investment following the sector’s planning, the market’s potential and contributing to the country’s economic development.

In the agricultural sector, Hoa Phat has animal feed plants in Hung Yen and Dong Nai Provinces with total capacity of 600,000 tonnes per year and safe biological pig farms in Yen Bai, Binh Phuoc, Bac Giang and Lang Son Provinces.
