"Coverage" high quality steel products of Hoa Phat to the South

Every time when I call him, he is sitting with his partners or talking to customers. That is his daily work and the Southern steel sales team, supporting Hoa Phat steel distributor to bring high quality steel products of Hoa Phat to "cover" all southern provinces and cities from Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong and back down to Ca Mau, Kien Giang. HPG News had a quick talk with Mr. Do Minh Quy, Director of Hoa Phat Hung Yen Steel Company in Ho Chi Minh City on the journey to "open up" in this potential market.

You has been with Hoa Phat since 2002, 17 years is a quite long time?

I came to Hoa Phat in September 2002 and I've been accompanied with Hoa Phat so far as well as the charm with Hoa Phat. In 2002, I was recruited into the Sales Department of Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company as a construction steel segment. In 2004, I was transferred to the Sales Department of Hoa Phat Refrigeration Company. In October 2008, the Group opened its steel branch in the South and has been mobilized by bosses to make steel in the Southern market so far.

What are impressive memories when you started in charge of Hoa Phat Steel Branch in the South?

Many, I can't remember all. But the most memorable memory was when the new branch reopened in 2008 (previously there was a steel branch in 2002 but there were not enough goods, so it stopped operating). When I go to the market, most of the agents and shops do not have any goodwill to welcome us.  Some stores also said even your price cheaper than 5-7 hundred / kg , I wouldn't buy because the goods are not stable then said they are busy.... Those were early difficulties in exploring the southern market.

After more than 10 years of "heading to the South", how is the success of Hoa Phat steel in production, brand awareness, product coverage in this area today?

Hoa Phat Steel has been present in the Southern market since 2002, however, it was interrupted in 2004 and 2008 I entered and started over. From an output of just over 1,000 tons / month in 2008 to now can reach nearly 40,000 tons / month. Most projects in the South have Hoa Phat steel. The civil market of agents has developed all provinces in the south of Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong and down to Ca Mau and Kien Giang.

Recently, the first Hoa Phat Construction Steel Customer Conference 2019 held in the South was extremely successful, could you share more about customer and partner reviews about the event?

Customers evaluated the conference was very successful, some units said thank you for inviting them to attend a great monumental and pledged event to always accompany and support Hoa Phat. Through this conference, they have the opportunity to better understand the size, people of Hoa Phat, the Board of Directors and employees of Hoa Phat, who always work closely with customer partner agents.

What is the Orientation of Hoa Phat Steel in the Southern market next time?

The goal is to consume about 800,000 tons / year by 2020, expanding civil networks and projects, bringing high quality steel products of Hoa Phat to "cover" all southern provinces and cities. With the project of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Integrated Complex, Hoa Phat Steel expects to continue receiving the companion and trust from customers in the South, occupying the best opportunities of the copper market and consolidating No. 1 market share in Vietnam.
