Hoa Phat to produce 40,000 tons of crude steel per day from Q4/2025, meeting market demand for HRC and construction steel

In August 2025, Hoa Phat Group produced 953,000 tons of liquid steel (crude steel), equivalent to 31,800 tons per day, up 34% compared to the same period in 2024. Starting from Q4/2025, Hoa Phat’s crude steel output is expected to reach about 40,000 tons per day. With this capacity, Hoa Phat is ready to fully meet market demand for hot-rolled coil (HRC), construction steel, and various types of high-quality steel.

Seventy-five percent of crude steel output comes from Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Steel Complex, with the remainder from Hoa Phat Hai Duong Integrated Steel Complex and Hoa Phat Hung Yen’s steel rolling Plant.

From the start of Q2 to September 2025, Blast Furnaces No.1 and No.2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Integrated Steel Complex were put into operation, marking the completion of the project. As a result, crude steel output at the entire Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex has grown rapidly and now reaches 30,000 tons per day.

In the closed steelmaking process from iron ore, hot metal from the Blast Furnace Plant is transferred to the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) at the Steelmaking Plant to remove impurities and stabilize composition, producing liquid steel. Depending on product requirements, the liquid steel undergoes refining and is cast into square billets (for construction steel and high-quality steel) or slabs (for HRC production).

Beyond common HRC products, Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Integrated Steel Complex focuses on producing high-quality HRC to serve manufacturing industries such as automotive, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, household appliances, and energy.

In the first six months of 2025, Hoa Phat produced 5.1 million tons of crude steel, up 17% from the same period in 2024. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and billets reached 5 million tons, up 23% year-on-year. Particularly, HRC sales rose 42% compared to the first half of 2024.

Hoa Phat Group is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, ranking among the world’s Top 30 steelmakers. From 2026, Hoa Phat’s steel production capacity will reach 16 million tons per year, including 9 million tons of HRC and high-quality steel, ensuring sufficient supply for both domestic and international markets.
