Hoa Phat Steel sold more than 235,000 tonnes in July

In July 2019, Hoa Phat construction steel achieved an output of more than 235,000 tonnes, of which 26,800 tonnes were exported. The No. 1 steel rolling line of Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex Complex contributed over 37,000 tonnes, accounting for 15.7 per cent of the total output, the remaining is the output from the complex in Hai Duong Province.

Recently, Hoa Phat construction steel stopped and moved the entire steel rolling factory in Nhu Quynh Industrial Park (built in 2001) to Pho Noi A Industrial Park, Hung Yen Province to optimise production, from metallurgy – preform casting – continuous steel rolling in the same area. The capacity of this plant is currently about 400,000 tonnes per year. The installation move up to now has basically been completed. It is adjusting and upgrading equipment to be able to operate from the end of August and the beginning of September.

In the above context, the factories of the complex in Hai Duong Province have maximised capacity and allocated to increase output to compensate for the line in Hung Yen Province, serving the domestic market in a timely manner. Consumption output in July still increased by 18 per cent compared to the same period last year.

In the first seven months of the year, Hoa Phat steel supplied 1.58 million tonnes of steels to the both local and foreign markets, posting 22 per cent year-on-year increase. Of which, the steel export amount in January-July period was 148,000 tonnes, up 35.2 per cent from the same period last year. Its key export markets included Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, the US and some other countries.

In the coming time, the No 2 steel rolling mill with a capacity of 1.2 million tonsne, belonging to phase 1 of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex is expected to start testing and supplying products to the Southern market from the end of this year. From the end of 2019 and early 2020, Hoa Phat construction steel will reach an output of over 4 million tonnes per year, of which half is produced in Hai Duong, Hung Yen and the other half in Dung Quat.

In addition to construction steel, Hoa Phat’s steel complexes also provide high-quality steel coils as raw materials for wire drawing plants, welding rod and prestressed steel production plants, helping for domestic mechanical plants to be fully active in raw materials and avoid dependence on imported goods.
