Hoa Phat Steel Sheet promotes exports to take advantage from trade pacts

With preferentials from trade agreements signed between Vietnam and other countries, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet has accelerated its product exports to foreign markets in 2020.

Recently, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet has signed a series of export contracts to Asia, Europe and Mexico, gradually conquering markets with strict quality requirements. The first batch of 10,000 tonnes of steel sheet is expected to land at the port of Thailand – the country of Golden Temples at the end of August. This shipment is an important first step for Hoa Phat Steel Sheet to deeply penetrate the international market in the upcoming time.

Leaders of Hoa Phat Steel Sheet Company Ltd said Thai government's strengthening of measures and import management for galvanized steel sheet products, especially the imposition of anti-dumping duties on galvanized coil from China, has opened up huge export opportunities for Vietnamese galvanized steel factories.

In addition, many trade and economic co-operation agreements between Vietnam and other countries and regions that have recently taken effects such as the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the 2016 revised ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA), and the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) are an important basis for Hoa Phat Steel Sheet to promote exports to the European Union (EU), ASEAN – China markets, and other countries in the Asia Pacific region such as Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, the US, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and New Zealand. With many tax incentives, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet has not missed the opportunity to enter these markets with its own advantages in terms of origin and quality.

Currently, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Production Complex has been able to produce hot rolled coil (HRC) steel with a modern Italian continuous casting and rolling production line. This is an important base steel material, accounting for more than 80 per cent of the product value. The autonomy of raw materials brings a great strength to Hoa Phat Steel Sheet in controlling quality from input to output, ensuring a clear origin, producing “100 per cent Made by Hoa Phat/Made in Vietnam”. In particular, the Europe's leading production lines have created outstanding quality for Hoa Phat Steel Sheet, meeting the most strict export standards.

After more than two years of officially launching the product in Vietnam, Hoa Phat steel sheet products have increased its coverage and gaining a foothold in the domestic market. Its sales volume in the first 6 months of the year was increased by 200 per cent over the same period last year.

Hoa Phat steel sheet has been exported to many markets around the world such as the US, Mexico, EU, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia with high appreciation from customers and partners for its quality.
