Hoa Phat steel pipe sales posted 11% y-o-y increase

The sales of Hoa Phat’s steel pipe reached 53,200 tonnes in February, posting 11 per cent year-on-year. In the first two months of the year, Hoa Phat supplied more than 93,200 tonnes of steel pipe to the market, increasing 8.6 per cent from the same period last year. It continues to maintain its leading position in the steel pipe market in Vietnam.

According to the company’s leaders, the prices of steel pipe products on both domestic and foreign markets have been continuously increased strongly, which is the main reason for good sales volume. The company sold nearly 5,000 tonnes of steel pipes in all three regions in a day. As a result, although the number of working days in February was small due to the Tet (Lunar New Year) Holiday, steel pipe consumption was still higher compared to February 2020.

Of which, the sales volume in the Central and the Southern regions grew strongly, increasing 29 per cent and 25 per cent respectively over the same period last year. The Northern region still contributed 45 per cent of the total sales despite of a slight increase.

The high-quality products of Hoa Phat steel pipes have not only been given interests in the domestic market but also were exported to the US, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong.

In addition to finished steel pipe products, Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. also provides the market with nearly 10,000 tonnes of raw material (galvanized coil). This is the base material for production of steel pipe, purlin, deck, mechanical accessories, railing, fence.

Hoa Phat steel sheet products have also been recorded an impressive growth. In February, the sales volume of Hoa Phat Steel Sheet Co., Ltd. reached nearly 17,000 tonnes, up 62 per cent over the same period last year. In the first two months of the year, Hoa Phat steel sheet recorded an output of over 42,000 tonnes, representing 91 per cent year-on-year hike. The best-selling product lines in the North are color coated cold steel sheet and high-end panel. In the Southern and Central markets, premium cold and color coated steel sheet have been given priorities from the customers in the regions.

Especially, Hoa Phat steel sheet has affirmed its quality and receive positive feedbacks from customers in its exported markets. It signed export contracts until the end of July 2021 with demanding and strict markets such as EU, the US, and Cannada etc. Hoa Phat’s steel sheet product is in the Top 5 in terms of market share in Vietnam.

The positive business results at the beginning of the year have been a good step for Hoa Phat Steel Pipe and Color-coated Steel sheet to fulfill their targets this year. In which, they targeted to bring the output of steel pipe products to 920,000 tonnes, an increase of 12 per cent compared to 2020 and always maintaining the No 1 position in term of market share in Vietnam. Meanwhile, the steel sheet product output is scheduled at 330,000 tonnes, posting 200 per cent year-on-year increase and improving its position in the Top 5 steel sheet manufacturers with the largest market share in the country.
