Hoa Phat Steel Pipe increased its market share to over 31%, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet posted surging output of 145%

Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company Limited sold 500,000 tonnes of steel pipes to the market in the first 8 months of the year. Of which, its export volume reached 13,688 tonnes, posting 23.3 per cent year-on-year increase. Especially, the output of Hoa Phat steel sheet saw the surge of 145 per cent from the same period last year.

Alone in August, the sale of Hoa Phat steel pipe reached nearly 76,500 tonnes, up 38.2 per cent from the corresponding period last year. Its products saw high sale volume include galvanized steel pipe, large steel pipe, hot-dip galvanized steel pipe and welded black steel pipe. The steel sales were hiked in three regions of north, central and south. Especially, the southern region posted a record sale of 26,500 tonnes. The sale in the central region was still increased by 8.6 per cent despite of impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A representative from Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company Ltd said their steel sale was surged last month as Hoa Phat’s products have been affirmed their quality and receiving trust of customers. The large steel pipe has been chosen in many projects and construction nationwide.

In addition, prices of hot roll coil (HRC) was sharply increased from US$480 to $530 per tonne. The Government’s VND62 trillion support package has also had positive impacts to production and trading of Hoa Phat Group’s steel pipe and steel sheet.

Hoa Phat’s steel sheet has seen impressive growth. In August, the sale of Hoa Phat’s steel sheet was double than the same period last year. Of which, its colour-coated steel had the highest growth which was triple than the corresponding period last year. In the January-August period, Hoa Phat’s steel sheet posted the growth rate of 145 per cent with key products of colored galvanized steel sheet, cold galvanized steel sheet and galvanized steel sheet.

Hoa Phat’s steel sheet products have not been sold well in the local market but also exports to Taiwan, India, the US, Mexico, Thailand and Indonesia with total volume increased by more than 10 per cent over last year. Some export contracts were signed and delivered till the end of November 2020.
