Hoa Phat reports VND 7.6 trillion in profit in first half of 2025, boosts HRC capacity to 9 million tonnes

In the second quarter of 2025, Hoa Phat Group recorded revenue of over VND 36 trillion and after-tax profit of VND 4.3 trillion. For the first six months of the year, the Group achieved more than VND 74 trillion in revenue and over VND 7.6 trillion in after-tax profit, up 5% and 23% year-on-year, respectively.

Hoa Phat will complete Blast Furnace No. 6 — part of Phase 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Integrated Steel Complex — in September 2025. Once operational, the Group's total steel production capacity will reach 16 million tonnes per year, including 9 million tonnes of hot-rolled coil (HRC), fully meeting domestic demand for this product.

For 2025, Hoa Phat has set a business target of VND 170 trillion in revenue and VND 15 trillion in after-tax profit. With the current results, the Group has fulfilled 44% of its revenue target and 51% of its profit goal. The steel segment and related products continued to be the key contributors, accounting for nearly 90% of the Group’s consolidated revenue.

In Q2 2025, Hoa Phat produced 2.5 million tonnes of crude steel, equivalent to Q1 and up 10% compared to Q2 2024. Sales volume of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and billet reached 2.6 million tonnes, up 9% quarter-on-quarter and 18% year-on-year.

Cumulatively for the first half of the year, the Group produced 5.1 million tonnes of crude steel, up 17% from H1 2024. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and billet reached 5 million tonnes, an increase of 23% compared to the same period last year. Notably, HRC sales rose 42% year-on-year.

Hoa Phat's agriculture segment achieved outstanding performance in the first six months, with revenue and after-tax profit growing by 38% and 130%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024.

On August 19, 2025, Hoa Phat will break ground on a new plant in Dung Quat, Quang Ngai to produce high-speed railway rails and special steel sections. The plant is aimed at supplying key national infrastructure projects such as the North-South high-speed railway, the Hai Phong – Hanoi – Lao Cai railway, and various urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
