Hoa Phat named among Top 10 enterprises creating the most value in Vietnam 2025

Viet Research, in coordination with Finance - Investment Newspaper (under the Ministry of Finance), has announced the Top 10 enterprises creating the most value in Vietnam 2025 – construction materials sector. Hoa Phat Group ranked first in the category of basic construction materials including steel, galvanized steel, and cement.

Hoa Phat tops the list of Vietnam Value Creators 2025 – construction materials sector

The Top 10 ranking is based on an objective, quantitative, and scientific research methodology. The program honors pioneering enterprises that generate significant value for the economy and society, reflected through indicators such as scale and growth rate, profitability and tax contributions, labor environment and welfare policies, ESG commitments, and innovation efforts.

In the first nine months of 2025, Hoa Phat Group produced 7.9 million tons of crude steel, up 23% year-on-year. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and billet reached 7.4 million tons, an increase of 22% over the same period last year. Among these, construction and high-quality steel reached 3.5 million tons, up 6%. Hoa Phat maintained its No. 1 market share in Vietnam’s construction steel segment, at 37%.

Galvanized steel sheet sales reached 320,000 tons, while steel pipes recorded 627,000 tons, growing 25% year-on-year. Prestressed steel and Hoa Phat wire rod also grew by 25% in sales, reaching 116,000 tons, with 42% coming from exports.

Hoa Phat is focusing on developing high-quality steel products for industries such as mechanical engineering, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, oil and gas, home appliances, steel structures, and energy. The Group is also accelerating the rail and structural steel plant project in Dung Quat, expected to produce rail steel by 2027, serving key railway projects in Vietnam and for export.

Hoa Phat steel is produced by a closed-loop, circular technology, recovering residual heat and gas from the coking plant, iron and steelmaking process to generate electricity — improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In 2024, waste heat power plants at Hoa Phat’s integrated steel complexes in Hai Duong and Dung Quat generated 3.18 billion kWh, valued at approximately VND 5,400 billion, helping the Group meet over 90% of its own production electricity demand.

Innovation and improvement initiatives at member companies have also yielded practical results, enhancing productivity, cutting costs, and contributing hundreds of billions of VND in annual savings. In 2024, Hoa Phat Dung Quat implemented 30 innovation projects, Hoa Phat Hai Duong had 13, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet had 10, and Hoa Phat Steel Pipe in Hung Yen, Da Nang, and Binh Duong contributed 41 initiatives.

Hoa Phat focuses on developing high-quality steel products for the manufacturing industry

In the first half of 2025, Hoa Phat recorded VND 74 trillion in revenue and VND 7.6 trillion in post-tax profit, increasing 5% and 23%, respectively, year-on-year. The Group contributed VND 7.1 trillion in taxes to the budgets of 20 provinces and cities across the country.

Alongside business operations, Hoa Phat dedicates hundreds of billions of VND annually to social responsibility programs in healthcare, education, transportation, and community development. These include donating over 1,500 houses to disadvantaged and policy beneficiary families, providing more than 300 water purifiers to schools and healthcare facilities, and funding the construction of Binh Dong Primary School in Quang Ngai, among others.
