Hoa Phat joins VAMI – strengthening collaboration with mechanical engineering enterprises

On May 20, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Chi Sang – Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI) – officially presented the membership certificate to Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, CEO of Hoa Phat Group. The ceremony was also attended by VAMI Vice Chairmen, the Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

Hoa Phat is currently the leading manufacturer of high-quality steel in Vietnam, serving a wide range of economic sectors such as automotive, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, oil & gas, railway, home appliances, national defense… By joining VAMI, Hoa Phat aims to strengthen its connections with enterprises in the industry, stay up-to-date with the demands of the mechanical engineering sector, and ensure the supply of high-quality, well-suited products.

On behalf of the association members, Chairman Nguyen Chi Sang welcomed Hoa Phat Group into VAMI. He emphasized: “In its 23 years of operation, VAMI has supported the development of key sectors such as hydropower mechanics, thermal power mechanics, and automotive mechanics, contributing to national economic security. Hoa Phat’s ability to independently produce high-quality steel products for the mechanical industry, replacing imports, is a great achievement. We warmly welcome Hoa Phat to VAMI. The Association’s members also expressed strong support and enthusiasm for the visit to the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Integrated Complex in early June."

Through VAMI, Hoa Phat Group hopes to enhance experience sharing, stay updated on market trends, and expand collaboration across the mechanical engineering supply chain with member enterprises. This move also helps Hoa Phat broaden its market for mechanical engineering steel, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s mechanical industry and affirming its active role in the national industrialization and modernization process.

According to Resolution 68-NQ/TW, the private sector is recognized as a key driving force, leading the development of enterprises, participating in national projects, and promoting economic growth. The resolution encourages the formation of enterprise linkages along industries, value chains, and supply chains – particularly in supporting and processing-manufacturing industries. Large enterprises are expected to lead domestic supply chains.

Hoa Phat’s leadership believes this resolution will be a strong catalyst for private enterprises to break through and contribute to a new era of national development.
