Hoa Phat honored in Top 50 best listed companies for 8th consecutive year

On October 15, 2020, Forbes Vietnam held the ceremony to honor Top 50 best listed companies in 2020. Hoa Phat Group (code HPG) was named in the lisit for 8 consecutive years and the second time in the Top 5 listed companies in terms of revenue and Top 10 in term of profit.

Companies honored on the list of 2020 have a strong foundation, not only having good business results in 2019 but also expecting to be resilient in the context of Vietnam's economy facing the most challenges in the past 10 years due to strong impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year's list of the 50 best companies announced by Forbes Vietnam recognized the outstanding development of the private sector, including Hoa Phat Group with a year of strong growth and continuously setting new milestones in its profit.

In 2019, Hoa Phat Group achieved impressive business results with revenue of nearly VND65 trillion and after-tax profit of more than VND7.5 trillion, exceeding 13 per cent of the set profit plan in 2019. In the period of 2015-2019, Hoa Phat Group’s Compounded Annual Growth rate (CAGR) reached 23 per cent.

In the first 9 months of the year, Hoa Phat Group recorded positive business results with revenue of VND65 trillion and after-tax profit of up to VND8.84 trillion, up 40 per cent and 56 per cent respectively over the same period in 2019. The after-tax profit in the nine-month period reached 98 per cent of the whole year’s plan. This has also been the first time that both revenue and after-tax profit in the first 9 months of 2020 have exceeded the performance level in 2019 to the highest level so far.

The Forbes Vietnam’s list 2020 was built based on the results of 3 strict screening rounds with enterprises listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HSX), Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and arranged according to each industry group. The companies were scored according to the following criteria: Compounded Annual Growth rate (CAGR), profit; return on equity (ROE), return on capital (ROC) and earning per share (EPS) growth rate in the period of 2015 - 2019. The enterprises are independently considered for their sustainable development in terms of brand, quality of corporate governance, the source of profits in the past and prospects of sustainable development.
