Hoa Phat Group sold nearly 1 million tonne of steel in October, reaching 7.3 million tonnes in 10 months

In October 2021, Hoa Phat Group reached a steel sale of 978,000 tonnes, representing 64 per cent year-on-year increase. Of which, its sale of construction steel was increased by 87 per cent from the same period last year to reach 467,000 tonnes. Hot rolled coil steel (HRC) was more than 200,000 tonnes, increasing 16 per cent from the previous month. With the sale of 72,000 tonnes, its steel pipe posted 85 per cent hike from the previous month.

The Government's application of the anti-pandemic strategy in the direction of flexible adaptation has created conditions for production and business activities to return to a new normal state, making public investment projects accelerated disbursement, etc. These are important bases for Hoa Phat Group's steel consumption to have a better growth compared to the months in the third quarter.

Also in October, finished steel export volume was increased sharply when reaching 147,000 tonnes, 2.4 times higher than the same period last year and the highest level so far. Its main export markets include Canada, Japan, South Korea, China, Cambodia,... 

In the 10 months of the year, Hoa Phat Group achieved steel sales of 7.3 million tonnes, up 38 per cent over the same period last year. Construction steel reached 3.2 million tonnes, representing 19 per cent year-on-year increase. Of which finished steel exports contributed 810,000 tonnes, increasing 86 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Hot rolled coil reached more than 2.1 million tonnes. Hoa Phat steel sheet achieved a total output of 318,000 tonnes, 2.5 times higher than the same period last year, mainly thanks to high export volume.

Hoa Phat Group is now the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia with a crude steel sale of 8 million tonnes a year. The group has optimized steelmaking activities, which makes the most of waste gas and residual heat for power generation. This helps the group self-sufficient in about 70-80 per cent of electricity production. Hoa Phat Group also researches and applies new technological achievements to ensure improved product quality and better environment.
