Currently, there are information and articles on internet and social network encouraging people to invest into bitcoin. The articles tittled “Mr Tran Dinh Long invests US$3 million into a start-up. He said it is a future”. Such information are advertised on Google Network system of online newspapers such as Vnexpress and Tuoi Tre (Youth).

The advertisements are totally wrong. Mr Long has invested and managed the only business of Hoa Phat Group. He has never had such sayings as quoted in the articles.

As soon as discovering the situation, the group reported to Google, Vnexpress and Tuoi Tre newspapers. The group also prepared certified written minutes No 995/2020/VB-10/06/2020 to serve as evidence for use before the courts. The certified written minutes was registered at Ha Noi Department of Justice.

According to Vietnam’s current laws and regulations, virtual money bitcoin has been an illegal payment means in the country. It is the reason that the information mentioned in the articles that impersonates false advertisements would not only seriously affects people if they are tricked into investing, but also directly affect the personal reputation of Mr. Tran Dinh Long in particular and Hoa Phat Group in general.

Hoa Phat Group sent a document to the Department of Internal Political Security (Ministry of Public Security) and Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) asking State management agencies to prevent the fake news on the internet. We also asked public security required Google or its representative in Vietnam to remove the above false advertising links and provide us with information related to the companies signing the advertising contracts. Hoa Phat Group could take measures to protect their image in accordance with laws and regulations.
