Hoa Phat Group improves its ranking in Top 50 most valuable brands

Forbes Vietnam on August 4th 2020 announced the list of Top 50 most valuable brands Viet Nam in 2020. Hoa Phat Group takes the 14th position, increasing 4 places from 2019. This has been sixth consecutive year Hoa Phat brand was honoured at the ranking.

The brand value of Hoa Phat was also increased from US$128.9 million in 2019 to $134.4 million this year. Hoa Phat has the highest ranking among construction materials enterprises. The brand value of Hoa Phat is 6.5 times higher than that of the 2nd position in the ranking.

Hoa Phat brand has not only taken the leading position in Viet Nam’s construction steel, steel pipe and office furniture in term of market share but also in some new sectors such as breeding, supplying Australian cows and clean chicken eggs.

By the end of the second quarter of the year, Hoa Phat posted revenue of VND40.1 trillion and after-tax profit of VND5.06 trillion, representing 29 per cent and 31 per cent year-on-year increases respectively. The group completed 47 per cent and 56 per cent of the whole year’s revenue and after-tax profit set targets.

Hoa Phat brand has been voted as National Brand, the Top Strongest Brands in Viet Nam, Vietnam Gold Star, Top 50 most effective companies in Vietnam and Top 20 most tax-payers in Viet Nam for consecutive years.

According to Forbes Vietnam, total value of Top 50 most valuable brands in the ranking in 2020 reached more than $12.6 billion, increasing 22 percent from last year. Forbes Việt Nam made this list according to the method of Forbes in the US, calculating the contribution of the brands in their business performance. The most valuable brands achieved a large turnover in the industries where the brands play a leading role. After making a preliminary list of more than 100 strong brands with high coverage and consumer awareness, Forbes Vietnam calculated the before-tax income and interest, then determined the value of intangible assets. The calculation is based on the financial statements of the companies.
