Hoa Phat Group donates VND10 Billion to support Lao Cai in storm recovery

Hoa Phat Group has pledged VND10 billion VND to assist Lao Cai province in recovering from the devastation caused by Storm No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi). The donation will help local residents rebuild their homes and stabilize their lives after the storm and subsequent flooding.

Hoa Phat’s relief efforts have taken multiple forms. The group is funding the construction of 28 solid new homes in A Lu Commune, Bat Xat District, at a cost of VND5.6 billion. Additionally, 55 homes, as well as local schools and cultural centers in Nu Village (Phuc Khanh Commune, Bao Yen District) and Nam Tong (Nam Luc Commune, Bac Ha District), are receiving roofing sheets worth VND3 billion. In Nu Village, 40 homes are being restored, and 15 homes are being repaired in Nam Tong.

Hoa Phat Group employees also donated 2,000 gift packages worth VND2 billion to residents of Bat Xat, Bac Ha, and Bao Yen districts, as part of the company’s ongoing charitable initiatives to support communities impacted by Typhoon Yagi.

This village was severely affected by the storm, with 28 homes completely destroyed by flooding and mudslides. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, expressed his gratitude to Hoa Phat Group for its attention, help, sharing, special affection and great, practical and timely support for the ethnic people of Lao Cai province in general and the ethnic people in the border area of ​​Bat Xat district in particular in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3. Mr. Giang directed the units to strengthen inspection and supervision of the construction of houses according to design, standards, and completion on schedule, thereby creating trust and prestige for the sponsor.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien, Deputy General Director of Hoa Phat Group, said that in addition to supporting 1,500 houses for the poor and households in difficult circumstances nationwide under the Government's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, supporting 28 houses for people in A Lu Commune, Bat Xat District is a practical action of Hoa Phat Group to help people rebuild after storms and floods to have solid houses, settle down, and stabilize their lives.

Hoa Phat Group will coordinate with the border guard and local authorities to strive to complete these houses as soon as possible before Tet (Lunar New Year) Holiday so that people can celebrate the traditional festival.

Colonel Tran Quang Tung, Political Commissar of Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard, also pledged to support the right beneficiaries, and work with construction units to complete 28 houses on schedule by January 20, 2025, and ensure the quality of the works for the households, striving to help people have a warm and safe Tet holiday.

Hoa Phat supports people in Nu Village  with roofing sheets as well as some local schools and cultural houses

Last weekend, Hoa Phat began shipping 20,000 sq.m of foam roofing sheets to Nu, Nam Tong, and A Lu villages as part of its rebuilding efforts. These materials will support the reconstruction of homes, schools, and community buildings. The roofing sheets are being delivered through the Hoa Phat Roofing Company’s distribution network and will continue to be provided in phases until all reconstruction projects are completed according to schedule.
