Hoa Phat Group donates VND10 billion to Hai Duong Province’s COVID-19 vaccine fund

In respond to the campaign calling for people’s supports to build a COVID-19 vaccine fund of Hai Duong Province, on May 28, 2021, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, General Director of Hoa Phat Group donated VND10 billion to the fund.

Following the call from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the launching ceremony to call for supports to purchase COVID-19 vaccines was held in the morning of May 28, 2021 with the presence of representatives of the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, People's Council, Fatherland Front, departments, unions as well as businesses and organizations in Hai Duong Province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, said the province determined that only mass vaccination for the majority of people would be able to defeat the pandemic and bring life back to normal. With this policy, Hai Duong is determined to mobilize all resources to have a vaccine for the people as soon as possible. The province has over 1.9 million people, so the cost of buying vaccines will be very large.

“We recognize and appreciate every support of businesses, organizations and individuals. The cooperation of businesses in contributing to the purchase of vaccines will contribute to repelling the pandemic, effectively realizing the dual goals of disease prevention and control, protection of people's health, and economic development, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang said.

Hoa Phat has donated VND87 billion to support ministries, sectors and localities to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic, of which Hai Duong Province is more than VND13 billion.

Earlier, Hoa Phat Group donated to the Fund of the Ministry of Health, Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Hospital K, Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang in cash, food and medical equipment. On May 25, 2021, Hoa Phat Group also donated VND50 billion to the Government's COVID-19 vaccine purchase fund.
