Hoa Phat Group’s steel sales reached nearly 600,000 tones in April

In April 2022, Hoa Phat Group produced 737,000 tons of crude steel, a slight increase over the same period. Sales of steel products including construction steel, hot rolled coil, steel billet reached nearly 600,000 tons. In which, hot rolled coil products reached 256,000 tons, up 20 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Sales of construction steel last month reached nearly 300,000 tons, down 30 per cent over the same period last year, mainly because dealers still have inventories from the previous month. However, export volume still posted 28 per cent year-on-year increase with 93,000 tons.

Its downstream steel products such as steel pipes recorded 44,000 tons, galvanized steel reached 31,000 tons. In which, sales of galvanized steel increased by 60 per cent over the same period last year, mainly thanks to export activities.

In the first 4 months of the year, Hoa Phat Group produced 2.9 million tons of crude steel, representing 7 per cent year-on-year increase. Sales volume of steel billet, construction steel, hot rolled coil steel reached nearly 2.8 million tons. In which, construction steel reached 1.6 million tons, up 28 per cent over the same period last year. Hot rolled coil (HRC) reached one million tons, up 16 per cent from the corresponding period last year.

In addition, Hoa Phat Group also provided over 250,000 tons of steel pipes and 136,000 tons of coated steel sheets to the market. Particularly, galvanized steel achieved an increase of 47 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Currently, Hoa Phat Group has a yearly crude steel capacity of 8.5 million tons, including 5.5 million tons of stele billet, construction steel and 3 million tons of HRC a year. According to the April 2022 report of the Vietnam Steel Association, Hoa Phat Group continued to maintain its leading position in term of market share of construction steel and steel pipe with 36.5 per cent and 29.2 per cent respectively. Hoa Phat steel sheet ranked in the Top 5 market share with 8.4 per cent.
