Hoa Phat Group’s S95 output reached over 1 million tons, posting 49% hike

In first 9 months of the year, the Hoa Phat Group’s total amount of finely ground blast furnace slag - S95 sold to the market reached more than 1 million tons, an increase of 49 per cent over the same period last year. Of which there were over 20,000 tons of S95 from the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex were exported to Australia.

With supply from two iron and steel production complexes in Kinh Mon in the northern province of Hai Duong and Dung Quat in southern province of Quang Ngai, Hoa Phat's S95 is increasingly known and appreciated by its partners for its quality and used in many constructions.

Sales volume of S95 at Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex reached 565,000 tons in the first 9 months of the year. On average, each month, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex supplied 5,000-7,000 tons for Central and Southern markets as well as exports.

The Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel Integrated Complex posted the S95 sales volume of 515,000 tons in the first 9 months of the year. Of which in September alone, sales volume increased by 66 per cent over the same period to reach over 60,000 tons. The big project using Hoa Phat's S95 in concrete mixing is Vinhomes Ocean Park 2.

Hoa Phat Group's finely milled blast furnace slag S95 is a by-product of the iron and steel production process using closed blast furnace technology. Thanks to extremely fast cooling by high pressure water, blast furnace slag is a very good active mineral additive, increasing the quality of cement and concrete. Therefore, it is widely used in Vietnam and around the world. .

Hoa Phat’s S95 is widely used in the production of cement and concrete of all kinds. It is used for cement production, including ordinary cement, low heat cement, sulphate resistant cement, slag cement. In concrete production, S95 is used in commercial concrete, high strength concrete, soil pile concrete, super performance concrete. In addition, S95 is also used to mix mortar or as a binder to reinforce weak soils etc.

With S95, it is possible to produce large block concrete, heat-resistant concrete due to increased heat resistance of concrete. It would also produce durable concrete in seawater and brackish water environments, by increasing the waterproofing of concrete, preventing the invasion of chlorine and sulphates, meeting the needs of increasing longevity for structures at sea, on islands and at the seaside.

Hoa Phat’s S95 helps reduce the cost of commercial concrete due to its lower cost, replacing 30-40 per cent of PCB40 cement when it is mixed. Therefore, S95 will contribute to reducing the clinker content in cement and CO2 emissions, contributing to environmental protection, creating more stable income for Hoa Phat Group.
