From February 19 - February 24, 2020, Magsenger 11 vessel delivery at the port of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex. This is the largest iron ore ship ever docked.
The vessel has a tonnage of 115,000 tons, a length of 254m, about 2.5 times the length of a football stadium. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trinh - Director of Port Division, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company, the vessel carried 106,000 tons of iron ore imported from Australia, providing input materials for the complex's factories. The vessel is anchored at port 11 to wait for unloading.
Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port has a total of 11 berths, which can accommodate the largest vessel of up to 200,000 tons. The Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port is continuing to complete the items so that by the end of this year, it can accommodate vessel of twice the tonnage Magsenger docked.
In 2019, 3.5 million tons of goods passed through Hoa Phat Dung Quat port, including importing raw materials, equipment and exporting billet and finished steel.
In Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex, thanks to the deep-water port, each ton of fuel helps Hoa Phat reduce 3-5 USD / ton, this is a great advantage because the raw materials must be imported every year up to millions of tons, on the other hand Hoa Phat is also easy to transfer products to the southern markets and export worldwide.
