Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Blast Furnace No. 1 Resumes Operation, Boosting Sales Volume

Currently, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex is operating five blast furnaces, four of which belong to the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Project. The blast furnaces in Dung Quat 1 have a volume of 1,080 m³. In comparison, the blast furnaces in the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Project have a volume of 2,500 m³ - more than double - while consuming less energy. Hoa Phat has also invested in environmental technology exceeding current standards and anticipated future requirements, especially in reducing CO₂ emissions and energy consumption.

Hoa Phat is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, utilizing advanced closed-loop technology. The Group recovers all residual heat and excess coke oven gas from iron and steel production to fuel boilers for electricity generation. In the first half of 2025, Hoa Phat generated 90% of the electricity used in steel production, saving approximately VND 3.5 trillion.

In September 2025, the Group will complete the second phase of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 project. Once completed, Hoa Phat’s total annual steel production capacity will reach 16 million tonnes, including 9 million tonnes of hot-rolled coil (HRC), fully meeting domestic demand for this product in Vietnam.
