In the context of many localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces have increased social distancing, sales volume of Hoa Phat’s construction steel and steel pipe decreased over the same period.

In addition to strictly implementing measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, Hoa Phat's factories and steel production complexes in Hung Yen, Hai Duong, and Quang Ngai provinces have still maintained continuous operations to ensure abundant steel supply for the market. Blast furnaces at Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex are increasingly stable, making the largest contribution to its overall output.

Hoa Phat's total crude steel capacity is currently 8 million tonnes a year, of which construction steel is 5 million tonnes, hot-rolled coil 3 million tonnes year. In the first 8 months of 2021, Hoa Phat Group achieved crude steel output of 5.4 million tonnes, up 56 per cent over the same period last year.

In which, construction steel was nearly 2.5 million tonnes, posting 16 per cent year-on-year increase. Hoa Phat steel has many competitive advantages such as having a deep-water seaport right at the factory, making it easy to transport raw materials and goods to markets. In particular, its steel products are smelted from iron ore, with high quality, diverse product categories and steel grades.
